Is Good Health Important to You?

Perhaps you would like to eat healthier, lose weight or quit smoking. In order to make certain changes in your life you need to have a place of accountability. Coaching offers that accountability. It all begins with establishing what the importance of good health means to you. What benefits will you get from feeling healthier, and how will that spread out into the other areas of your life? The answers to these questions are within you. With the help of an experienced professional coach you will be able to create solutions to suit your life. If there are certain practices that you would like to adopt regarding your health, your coach can help to make that come true for you. Health is not about someone else creating a plan for you. Empower yourself and be your own creator. It is amazing how we can all work so hard to enhance our lives, but ignore health issues. Take the time to invest in your health and well-being. When you're focusing on yourself you have the opportunity to improve virtually everything in your life.


 
 

The Mind Body Connection

Being aware of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors can help you to become more emotionally healthy. According to author Louise Hay, when you take care of yourself emotionally, your occurence of physical illness lessens. By taking the time to learn how to use positive thinking in your everyday life, you will find that you will feel better physically.  When your mind is happy your body follows. Coping with stress should be the main goal in making your life easier to live.

In order to become more emotionally and physically healthy, the journey needs to begin with you. Here are some suggestions as to how you can begin to create a healthier you. Try incorporating these ideas into your life and see how much better everyday will be.



Self-Care

When you take the time to take care of yourself amazing things follow. Make a list of things that you enjoy doing for yourself and try to make them happen a few times a week. Self-love and respect for self will enhance your life beyond anything you can imagine. You might enjoy reading, walking, taking a bath, resting in your favorite chair, sitting outdoors or watching a sunset. Be creative and think of some things that will help you to indulge yourself.

 
Balance

It is so important to have balance in your life. A time for family, work and you. When you take the time to get your priorities in order this will help you to see where changes can be made to create more balance on a daily basis. With a sense of balance in your life you will be able to handle the stressful things that come your way.

 
Relaxation

Relaxation is necessary in order to promote wellness.  After a crazy week of stress most people retreat to their homes on a Friday night to try to enjoy their "wonderfully free" two day weekend. Wouldn't it be nice if you could find relaxation at some point everyday?  Take the time to investigate the different forms of relaxation and see which ones will work for you. There are several books and articles that highlight the many benefits of meditation. This mode of relaxation is used by many to "quiet the mind". You may also want to consider deep breathing, self hypnosis and guided imagery. They can all make a huge difference in how you handle everyday stress. 

 
Venting

To promote emotional wellness it is essential that you release some of the stress and anxiety that can be accompanying you throughout the day. It is so important that we remove feelings of negativity. Keeping these feelings inside prevents you from feeling good. By taking the time to express your feelings and emotions you cleanse yourself. This promotes a healthier self both emotionally and physically.
If you don’t have the opportunity to vent to friends or family, try
using a journal to release some of the things that frustrate you. When you let go of your anger, you are free to see life from a more positive perspective.
